Light to moderate rains were witnessed in isolated parts of Rajasthan with Kanwas in Kota district receiving a maximum 10 cm of rainfall, even as Southwest monsoon weakened further in the state, Met department said on Monday.

Light to moderate rainfall occurred at isolated places in eastern, northern and southern parts of the state, including Jodhpur, Ajmer, Bikaner, Kota, Jaipur divisions, and some regions of Udaipur and Bharatpur districts. Kanwas in Kota district received 10 cm of rains, the highest in the state in the past 24 hours.

Atru, Kolayat, Magra recorded the maximum rainfall of three cm each, followed by Khanpur, Shahpura, Hamirgarh, Kota Airport two cm each, and Mozmabad, Ladpura and Lohawat one cm each, a Met report said. The rest of the state received no rains between 0830 hours to 1730 hours.

Dry weather conditions prevailed in the western districts of the state with the mercury moving upward Barmer, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Churu, and Sriganganagar, where maximum temperature remained between 37 and 38.9 degree C. Monsoon current would further be affected by rising temperature, though light rains might occur at some places in eastern and southern regions in next 24 hours in the state, a met forecast said.
