Liquid explosives recovered

KORAPUT: Security personnel engaged in anti-Maoist operation on Wednesday recovered 240 kg of liquid explosives, stored by Maoists in a forest here.Police said security personnel belonging to Special Operation Group and Border Security Force while conducting a counter-insurgency operation near Pachingi forest under Narayanpatna police limits, recovered as many as 40 packets of liquid explosives weighing 240 kg.“The explosives were dumped in a pit. The liquid explosive, a gel like substance, is very powerful. Securitymen have safely recovered the explosives,” said Koraput SP Anup Kumar Sahoo. The Maoists would have used the explosives in parts. Around 10 to 12 kg of liquid explosive is used at a time, the SP added.
