'Lootera' Tweet Review: First day, first show
Set in the 1950s, the film narrates the story of Varun Shrivastav (Ranveer Singh) and Pakhi(Sonakshi Sinha).

New Delhi: Vikramaditya Motwane had stunned the critics with his poignant coming of age story 'Udaan'. The director's second film. 'Lootera' has already garnered good feedback from people within the film industry.

Set in the 1950s, the film narrates the story of Varun Shrivastav (Ranveer Singh) and Pakhi(Sonakshi Sinha). Varun enters Pakhi's life, falls in love with her and betrays her and vanishes. Only to come back in her life years later.

Ranveer and Sonakshi, both known for their commercial films have stepped out of their comfort zone to play a part in this period love story. Both of them have tasted success with their first films. In fact Sonakshi has been associated with some blockbuster films in the recent past.

'Lootera' also has brought together two very different people, in terms of the kind of cinema they make, together. Ekta Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap along with Vikas Behl join hands to produce this film which has parts based on O Henry's story 'The Last Leaf'.

Expectations from the film are high as many big names of the film industry are associated with the project. Will it match up to everyone's expectations? Will a period love story be able to set the cash register ringing? Shomini Sen of IBNlive.com was inside the theatre to find that out.
