New Delhi: The year of 2010 is clearly not a good year for the Indian Railways with the accident at the Badarwas railway station, near Shivpuri in Madhya Pradesh being the latest mishap in a series of fatal train accidents this past year.
Just three months ago on 19th July, the Uttarbanga Express collided into the Vananchal Express at Sainthia in West Bengal, killing 66 people as 90 passengers were injured in the accident.
In May 148 people died when the Gyaneshwari Express derailed and hit a goods train at Jhargram in West Bengal.
Three people died and many were injured when two express trains - Kalindi Express and Shram Shakti Express - collided in Uttar Pradesh in January.
And the year began on a tragic note when five train accidents occurred across Uttar Pradesh due to fog and low visibility.
