Man found dead

CUTTACK: A 50-year-old was allegedly found dead at Andhati under Cuttack Sadar police limits here on Sunday afternoon, fuelling allegations of murder while police claimed it to be a sunstroke death.Madhab Sethi was found lying dead in a field near the village at around 2 pm with bleeding from his back and behind the ear. His body had injury marks. The nature of his death sparked allegations of his being murdered. He was allegedly involved in a moneylending dispute with one Pravakar Nayak of the same village. He had reportedly lent about Rs 2,000 to Pravakar, who was not returning it. When he had sought the money back, the latter had allegedly threatened him.However, police refuted the allegations stating that preliminary investigations had revealed that Madhab had died of heatstroke. The bleeding was owing to rupture in blood vessels. The body has been sent for postmortem and basing on the report further action would be taken, police said.The incident, on the other hand, took a queer twist as Pravakar was admitted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital after suffering health problems owing to over-consumption of liquor on Sunday.A case of unnatural death has been registered by Sadar police.
