Man selling ganja to school kids held

KOCHI: The Shadow Police on Tuesday arrested one person for selling ganja and other drugs to school children in the city.The arrested has been identified as Sunil alias Acha, 41, of Nikathilthara, Vadakke Malippuram. Recently the police had formed a Special Shadow police wing to deal with drugrelated cases.Sunil had been under police observation for sometime. He used to employ schoolchildren to sell ganja. Each packet is being sold at `200. Sunil was arrested while trying to sell ganja at an unoccupied building at Nettoor. Some packets of ganja were seized from him.Recently, the special wing of the Shadow Police had arrested a native of Bengal with 5,000 ampoules of contraband. The police have also arrested some others Noushad from near Amrita hospital, Prasad from near Kaloor stadium and Sajan from near Vaduthala Don Bosco School.He was arrested based on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner P A Valson and Special Branch Assistant Commissioner Shamsu Illickal. The arrest was carried out by a team led by Shadow SI Nisar, Panangad SI K V Benny and ASI Xavier.The public can inform the police about drug sale in the city at 0484 2385002.
