Bhaiya Ram alias Bipin was arrested when he came to meet someone near Rukhi Ghati on Sunday, Superintendent of Police Bhimsen Tuti told reporters.
A 9 mm pistol was seized from him. He is wanted in a case relating to the gunning down of five policemen and attack on Chenpur police station a few years ago, Tuti said.
On interrogation, the rebel revealed that he had joined the CPI (Maoist) three/four years ago to avenge the killing of his brother by a criminal outfit, he added.
