HYDERABAD: Display of Gatka skills by Sikh youths, singing of Shabad Keertans and procession of the Guru Granth Sahib on a decorated vehicle marked the Nagar Keertan on Thursday. The procession was taken out by the Gowliguda Gurudwara Saheb as part of the 346th Prakash Utsav of Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth guru of Sikhs.
Thousands of Sikh devotees participated in the procession where Shabad Keertans were sung by Keerthani Jathas and Sikh youths displayed their skills with blunt weapons, kirpans and swords which attracted the attention of passersby. The Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee members said as the birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh falls on December 31, a Vishaal Deewan (mass congregation) will be held at the Gurdwara Saheb from 10 a.m to 4 p.m. The event will be marked by recitations of Gurbani Keertans (holy hymns) by the reputed Ragi Jathas from across the country. After culmination of the congregation, GurukaLangar will be served to devotees.
