New Delhi: A MiG-21 fighter of the Indian Air Force crashed on Tuesday in Tezpur, Assam while on a routine training flying. The pilot bailed out safely.
"Pilot Squadron Leader Bansal ejected safely after his jet developed problems while on a routine training flying mission shortly before noon on Tuesday near Tezpur Air Base, Assam," said IAF spokesperson Squadron Leader Mahesh Upasani.
The aircraft had taken-off from the Tezpur Air Base.
"There was no damage to civil life or property and no individual was injured or killed in the mishap," Squadron Leader Upasani said.
An inquiry has been ordered to probe the reasons for the accident.
