Minister for Animal Husbandry T K M Chinnayya reviewed the activities of his department in Vellore on Wednesday. He said Rs 94 lakh had been allocated for the upgradation of veterinary facility in the district as part of Rs 25 crore scheme announced by the Chief Minister. The infrastructure of veterinary hospitals at Melvisharam, Sholinghur, Kaniyambadi and Natrampalli was being improved at Rs 6 lakhs each.
Nineteen veterinary dispensaries and a hospital at a cost of Rs 26 lakh each would be set up. A frozen semen bank would be set up at a cost of Rs 43.5 lakh, he added.
