ALAPPUZHA: The body of a 30yearold woman, who went missing along with her husband on Friday, was found in the Kayamkulam backwaters within the Thrikkunnapuzha police station limits here on Sunday. The body was found under the Thrikkunnapuzha bridge by some local people.Kayamkulam Deputy SP Suneesh Kumar said that Nisha and her husband Maniraj, 34, Karutharayil, Aloompedika, Prayar South, went missing while they were returning home in their car (KL 23777) from Ernakulam.The Oachira police had registered a missing case in this regard after the kin of the couple lodged a complaint with the police on Friday. The Kayamkulam DySP said that according to the statements of the neighbours of the couple, all the properties of Nisha were transferred in the name of Maniraj the other day. Maniraj is a suspect in the case. The police said that they had not traced out the car and Maniraj so far.The couple had left for Ernakulam on Thursday noon from Nisha's home at Changankulangara where their fiveyearold son Varesh was staying.Nisha reportedly spoke to her relatives over phone when they reached Cherthala. They also had dinner from a hotel in Cherthala, the police said. Later, the couple went missing and their mobile phones were switched off. The body of Nisha has been kept at Alappuzha Medical College Hospital mortuary.
