Mujahideen Terrorist With Pak Links Arrested From J&K’s Handwara

In a successful joint operation, security forces arrested a Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist from Jammu and Kashmir’s Kacrhi village in Handwara. The terrorist was reportedly tasked with target killings in the area.

The forces, involved in the apprehension of the militant, comprised the Army’s 30RR and Handwara Police. The arrested terrorist has been identified as Zakir Hamid Mir from Kacrhi village in Handwara.

Zakir Hamid Mir, the son of Abdul Hamid Mir of Kachri, Yaroo, was found to have been in communication with a handler based in Pakistan, Zahoor Ahmad Mir, who was reportedly directing his activities.

The arrest took place following specific intelligence on his involvement in target killings in the region.

During the operation, a Chinese pistol and a hand grenade were seized from the terrorists. After the arrest, an investigation has been initiated, and a case has been registered under FIR number 124/2024. The authorities continue their efforts to gather further information.
