Mumbai: Police seize tugboat, detain 4 people

Mumbai: In an apparent case of smuggling, the coastguard officials intercepted a tugboat off the Mumbai coast on June 29 and detained four people.

The boat, Ganga Sagan, was sailing in the route between Gujarat and Karachi without the necessary documents or permissions.

Police suspect the boat could be part of a smuggling racket. However, it managed to search the boat only after July 2, although nothing was found during the search.

The chemical analysis report of the boat is awaited.
