Narain to debut as a test driver
The 28-year-old is hoping to secure a reserve role with the team after losing his seat with the new Midland team following a mediocre debut season.

New Delhi: Narain Karthikeyan has been asked by Williams to do more testing for the Grove team in Spain later in the week.

Karthikeyan will return to the wheel of the Cosworth V8-powered FW27C at Jerez on Wednesday, and again on Friday.

The 28-year-old wants to secure a reserve place with the team after losing his seat with the new Midland team following his not-so-impressive debut season.

Karthikeyan impressed the test team by out-pacing new signing and reigning GP2 champion, Nico Rosberg, at the Jerez circuit last week and is favourite to land the official reserve role.

Although he appears to be in the pole position to drive Williams's third car in Friday practice at races next year, Denmark's Nicolas Kiesa has also been mentioned as a candidate.

Kiesa, who competed for Minardi in 2003, was Jordan's test driver this year but is yet to be invited by Williams to test.
