BANGALORE: One of city’s oldest schools, the National High School celebrated 95 years of successful existence on Tuesday. Inaugurating the eighth standard digital education routine, the aluminus of the school recalled their old days and charted out the transformation that the school has gone through in the last 95 years.Members of the school’s Alumni Assocation spoke to over 400 students, who were accompanied by their parents and recalled their experiences as children. The alumni said that their school, that was formed in 1917 has been churning out students, who have gone on to achieve their goals. Professor Ramakrishna, one of the alumni addressed the students and spoke about his favourite headmaster. “Our old headmaster Nanjundaiah is someone I remember till date. I used to then wear a simple khadi cap, a coat and chappals and walk into the school. We were all supposed to wear these caps as they were part of the uniform. We have been inspired in many ways by our elders in those times and its now time to pass on the gems of wisdom to youngsters,” said Prof Ramakrishna. He further explained how he had to travel 160 km to get to school.President of National Education Soceity of Karnataka Dr A H Ramarao, Secretary of Teachers’ Council D V Nagesh, Union Secretary V Raja, were present.
