Swamy: Jung is a Cong stooge,`abetting' Kejri
While demanding the dismissal of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal for refusing to apologise to MP Maheish Girri, BJP Rajya Sabha member Subramanian Swamy left his party embarrassed when he launched a parallel attack on LG Najeeb Jung, accusing him of seeking guidance from Congress chief Sonia Gandhi's political secretary Ahmed Patel. Swamy also sent a letter to President Pranab Mukherjee claiming that Jung was playing a “mischievous role“ in “abetting“ Kejriwal at the behest of Congress while “appearing to oppose“ the CM in public for the sake of credibility.

2 Indians, 12 others killed in Af bus blast
Two Indians were among 25 killed in bomb blasts carried out across Afghanistan on Monday by the Taliban and IS. The Indians, identified as Ganesh Thapa and Govind Singh from Dehradun, were among 14 guards who were killed in a bus blast.

Foreigners can now hold 100% stake in food,retail, airlines
The Modi government on Monday announced fresh liberalisation of foreign direct investment (FDI) rules by throwing open food retail, airlines and private security firms to higher overseas flows. In addition, rules were eased for those looking to invest in defence, DTH services and single-brand retail as the Modi administration sought to showcase India as the “most open“ FDI destination in the world with only a handful of sectors requiring government clearance.

Approach Govt to stop animalculling, says SC
The Supreme Court refused on Monday to put on hold the Centre’s notifications that declared blue bulls, monkeys and wild boars vermin, allowing them to be culled in three states.
A vacation bench of justice AK Goel and justice AM Khanwilkar asked the petitioners — animal welfare boards and rights activist — to raise their concerns with the Centre.

DMRC to build Dwarka-Gurgaon Metro line: Khattar
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will implement the proposed Metro line from Dwarka Sector 21 to IFFCO Chowk in Gurgaon.
Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar said the state government had given the final nod to the project.
The proposed Metro link has been delayed time and again as the detailed project reports were rejected thrice by the Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation, citing non-viability of the project.

No Contact between India, Pak NSAs
Contact between the national security advisers (NSAs) of India and Pakistan, which had emerged as a key channel of communication against the backdrop of frayed ties, has snapped for almost three months now, government sources said on Monday.
The two top security officials have not spoken since Pakistan’s NSA Nasser Khan Janjua called his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval late in March to inform him of the arrest of alleged Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav, three sources familiar with the issue told HT. Two of the sources are in Pakistan and the third in India.

Cameron invokes trade with India in anti-Brexit debate
British Prime Minister David Cameron on Sunday invoked rising trade with India as part of his plea to the public to vote to remain in the EU, saying the UK could do more with the country, but cutting off from the main market would be “economic madness”. The pound surged to a three-week high of 1.4673 against the dollar after his statement.
Meanwhile, 10 Nobel economics laureates, including George Akerlof, Kenneth Arrow, Angus Deaton, Peter Diamond, James Heckman, Eric Maskin, James Mirrlees, Christopher Pissarides, Robert Solow and Jean Tirole, also called to Britain to remain in the EU.

Oscar Pistorius gets gang rape threats ahead of sentence
In a sensational revelation, it has emerged out that a family member of Oscar Pistorius, who has been placed under house arrest in connection with the murder case of his model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, has received threats that the former Paralympics runner would be gang raped in prison.
Earlier this week, Pistorius walked on his stumps in the court and pictures of his murdered girlfriend were made public.
According to police, Pistorius’ cousin Arnoldus Kurt Pistorius received threats in a series of WhatsApp messages, News24 reported.
