Sauber driver Nico Hulkenberg said he needs to take a leaf out of Jenson Button's book to achieve success.

The German driver switched from Force India to Sauber for the 2013 Formula One season, but has scored just five points in seven races so far.

Jenson Button found himself in a similar situation with Honda, where he was unable to compete at the front end of the grid regularly. But, Button's patience and hard world paid off in the end as he went on to win the World Championship in 2009.

Hulkenberg says he needs to be patient and learn from this.

"If you see other people it's very few guys who come in and right away are in a winning car," said Hulkenberg.

"I know Jenson [Button] was in Honda for many years, and also not being able to show his ability because the car wasn't good enough for him. Sometimes that is what happens but of course as a driver you always wish and love to have a car which allows you to show what you can do and perform really well but you have to be patient."

What's your reaction?
