No CCTV clues of attack on Tibetan

The investigation into the stabbing of Tenzin Dagyal, a Tibetan, who is being treated at a city hospital since August 14, has become tough as the laboratory in Gujarat could not zero in on the culprits with the help of CCTV footage.

A team of police officials who had gone to Gujarat returned empty-handed, as no clues were unveiled by the CCTV.

One of the two youths picked up by the cops, suspected of signaling the accused at the spot, revealed that he gestured to a person working at the hotel nearby and not to the accused. Hence, both the arrested were released, an official said.

Police will go through the call details of Tenzin looking for clues of the attackers. It is said that there are more than 20 pictures of a girl on his mobile phone.

“We are investigating if the love affair of Tenzin with a girl from Himachal Pradesh was the reason,” sources said. They are contemplating on questioning the girl. According to a senior police official, the confusing statements of Tenzin proved a setback for them.

“Once the victim said that he did not see the accused. Then he said that the culprits looked like youths from a particular community. These statements lead us to think that something is fishy.

Tenzin’s language problem is also a hurdle for the investigators,” he said, adding that Tenzin’s parents in Tibet were being forced by the locals there to get their son back from Mysore.
