No end in sight to Datta cave repairs

CHIKMAGALUR: The stage is set for the VHP-Bajrang Dal sponsored Dattamala Abhiyan and Datta Jayanthi rituals atop the Baba Budan Giri hills from December 8.Bajrang Dal state convener Suryanarayan said that Mahila Sankerthana Yatre will be held on December 8, followed by Shobha Yatre in the city on 9 and offering of Irumudi at the cave shrine on Dec 10.He called upon the Hindus to show their unity and strength in the rituals which will pave way for making Datta Peeta  a Hindu Shradda Kendra.However , the ongoing repair at the cave shrine is yet to be completed to celebrate the Datta Jayanthi this year. Contractors of Shyamsundar Constructions maintained that Datta cave shrine repair is close to completion.
