New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has evidence against Swan Telecom and Unitech in the multi-crore 2G spectrum scam, sources have told CNN-IBN. However, sources said that so far there has been no evidence against corporate lobbyist Nira Radia in the scam.
Sources say that the CBI is yet to find any evidence which can show that Radia was involved in criminal conspiracy in the scam. She has already been questioned thrice by the CBI in connection with the multi-crore scam.
CBI sources said that DB Realty promoter Shahid Usman Balwa is also being investigated over his alleged involvement in the scam. Balwa has already been summoned twice by the CBI but he has not yet responded. He is likely to be summoned for the third time by the investigating agency.
Balwa did not respond to the CBI summons on Monday. He is alleged to have links with former telecom minister A Raja and the Dravida Munnettra Kazhagam (DMK). The promoter of DB Realty reportedly sold 45 per cent stake in Swan Telecom to the UAE-based Etisalat in 2009 after the former got 2G spectrum licence.
