Visitors to Bannerghatta Biological Park (BBP) can now log into the BBP’s website and plan their trip online. In an effort to attract more visitors, the BBP launched its website www.bannerghattabiologicalpark.org on Friday.

“The website has been on the anvil for the last two or three years. It is finally launched. The 12 different links in the website have details about the park, safari tours, route maps and adoption rates and forms,” said R Raju, Executive Director, BBP. Also, e-ticketing system, which will allow visitors book their tickets online, will be introduced within a month.

Chairman of Zoo Authority of Karnataka (ZAK) M Nanjundaswamy, who inaugurated the website, also launched a state-of-the-art CCTV surveillance system on the BBP premises. Currently, the BBP has five high definition CCTV cameras.

The new facility aims to register visitors’ entry to

the park and prevent illegal activities. The five cameras are placed around the entrance gates and other important locations.

“The BBP has been improving steadily over the years and we are fully committed to its growth. The director has mentioned the need for more cameras and we will extend our support to the request during the council meet,” Nanjundaswamy said.

The park is looking at installing two more cameras to cover more ares of the park.
