THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Upholding the slogan ‘teaching for nation’s service and education for nation’s development’, the National Teachers Union (NTU) would hold its 33th state conference in Thiruvananthapuram from February 17 to 19. This was announced by National Teachers Union state president V Unnikrishnan in a press conference here.The delegates meet would be inaugurated by O Rajagopal at Samskrithi Bhavan on February 17. Friends meet scheduled in the afternoon would be inaugurated by Thiruvananthapuram Corporation Councillor P Ashok Kumar. Prof Narayana Kurup would inaugurate the send off function which is scheduled at 3.45 p m. In the debate which would be held at 5 p m, Rashtreeya Swayam Sevak Sangh state pracharak P R Sasidharan would lecture on the topic ‘Role of Teachers in Social Reformation’. Complete state delegates meet would be held on February 18 at the Rajadhani Auditorium. The function would be inaugurated by Bharatheeya Vichara Kendram director P Parameswaran. Padmasree awardee Dr Hareendran Nair would be felicitated on the occasion. BJP state president V Muraleedharan, FETO state president S Varijakshan, O Rajagopal and V Unnikrishanan would attend the function.The education conference to be held in the afternoon would be inaugurated by former Kerala University Vice Chancellor A Sukumaran Nair. The women’s conference will be inaugurated by Hindu Aikyavedi state president KP Sasikala teacher. Rashtreeya Swayam Sevak Sangh , state Karyavah P Gopalan Kutty master will deliver key note address in the valedictory function. The state conference of the organisation will be held on February 19 at Samskrithi Bhavan here.
