HYDERABAD: The special court for CBI cases on Monday heard the arguments of the defence counsel and the CBI with respect to the bail petition filed by V Vijay Sai Reddy, an accused in Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s alleged illegal assets case, and reserved the orders for April 12.The CBI told the court that it would file more chargesheets in the case and Vijay Sai Reddy and Jaganmohan Reddy would figure as accused in all of them. Jaganmohan Reddy would be Accused No 1 and Vijay Sai Reddy Accused No 2.Contending that the CBI filed an incomplete chargesheet in the case, Vijay Sai Reddy’s counsel asked the court to reject the same. ``The petitioner (Vijay Sai Reddy) has been behind bars for more than 90 days and he has the right to be released on bail,’’ the counsel argued. The defence counsel told the court that Vijay Sai Reddy left Jagathi Publications in 2007 while Hetero group and Aurobindo Pharma invested money in 2008 which was stated in the chargesheet. Further, the FIR speaks about disproportionate assets worth over Rs 1,246 crore but the charge-sheet has been filed for mere Rs 19.50 crore.“The CBI would take more than two years to complete investigation and the petitioner cannot be forced to remain in jail till that period,’’ the defense counsel told the court. The CBI prosecutor, however, argued that Vijay Sai Reddy’s bail plea should not be considered. He contended that the law provides for series of chargesheets when the case involves individual conspiracies.
