Pakistan Rangers to hand over captured BSF soldier to India on Friday
The Director General(DG) of Pakistan Rangers on Thursday said that they will soon return the BSF soldier who was captured by them.

Jammu: Pakistan Rangers on Thursday informed Indian authorities that the Border Security Force (BSF) soldier who got swept away by strong currents of Chenab river will be returned on Friday.

The Director General(DG) of Pakistan Rangers on Thursday said that they will soon return the BSF soldier who was captured by them.

"I want to say that we are returning the solider soon. Verification process is on and multiple agencies Ministry of Interior, ISI and Military Intelligence are verifying the antecedent. To us everything is okay and hopefully he will be returned soon," said the DG.

BSF Director General DK Pathak on Thursday said, "We were hoping that the soldier would be back on Wednesday, but it did not happen. It seems Pakistan is following the procedure."

BSF Jammu IG Rakesh Sharma has informed that flag meeting was held between BSF and Pakistan Rangers at around 4 PM on Thursday to finalise when the soldier will be returned to India.

The incident took place on Wednesday when a team of BSF soldiers was patrolling in the Chenab. Their boat got swept away by strong currents after its engine failed. While five soldiers jumped off the boat to save themselves, one was swept away.
