CHENNAI: The State government has constituted a panel to regulate and monitor the admissions to professional courses by self-financing colleges. The committee would be headed by Justice A Abdul Hadi, and its mandate would be to ensure fair and transparent admission to professional courses, for seats retained by private professional institutions, an official release here said.For admissions to medical, para-medical and Indian System of Medicine, Girija Vaidyanathan, Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, would be the Member-Secretary of the Committee. The other members are Dr Mayilvahanan Natarajan, Vice-Chancellor, Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University, Dr K Ananda Kannan, former V-C of the University, and Dr S K Rajan. The panel has permitted the TN Private Professional Colleges Association - Health Sciences to carry out the process for UG admission for courses in Medical, Dental, Para-medical and Indian System of Medicine, in respect of their respective member institutions. The TN Recognised Nursing Schools and Colleges Association, Chennai, has also been permitted to carry out the admissions for B.Sc (Nursing) course, in respect of their 67-member institutions.For further details and admission schedules, log onto http://tnppcahs.org and www.tnrnsca.com
