KOCHI: The CBSE/ICSE Parents Forum has come down heavily on the Entrance commissioner for ignoring the promises he made to them at a meeting held on August 2.The Parents Forum alleged that the Entrance Commissioner was going ahead with the admission process ignoring all the promises made to the CBSE/ICSE parents. The discussion was held at the Secretariat on the recommendation of the Chief Minister, the Forum said. The Forum has been protesting against the fall in the ranks of engineering entrance examination of CBSE/ICSE students after the Plus-II marks were incorporated into it. The Commissioner had promised that the mark list of every student before and after the normalisation would be published within 24 hours of the meeting.Initially the Commissioner had countered the request saying that once the list is published the number of court cases will be on the raise. But he changed his opinion when we called for transparency, the Forum said. The organisation said that in spite of the fact that the Chief Minister, the Opposition leader and others had accepted the issue, the Education Minister was saying that the problem could be looked into only in the next academic year. This is plain cruelty to the thousands of students who wrote the examination this year, the members said. Many who have received high marks in their merit are now studying in private colleges after paying hefty fees. The CM must immediately intervene a meeting on the issue to find a solution to the problem, they said.
