New Delhi: Though he remained a benevolent Urdu professor for the students of the Aligarh Muslim University but the lovers of the quality Hindi film songs will always remember Shahryar as the lyricist of the evergreen songs of 1981 film 'Umrao Jaan'. He also penned down lyrics for films such as 'Gaman', 'Faasle' and 'Anjuman'.
