I think there is no question over the fact that Muammar Gaddafi was seen as one of the most brutal dictators in the world who ruled over his country for more than 40 years with an iron hand. Even so the manner of his killing, the brutal lynching, has shocked the world. But is this a precedent to establishing a no-fly zone over Libya and turn it into one for regime change? The NATO anyway has played an extremely important role in the last seven months for the regime change in Libya. Of course, the question now is whether or not the rebels will be able to keep Libya unified. What kind of leadership will NTC now provide? There is already concern over the Islamist orientation of the NTC rebels.Finally, we have to think over what the entire operation means for India. It's not only the precedent of the West taking such actions despite India's objections, there is also the spectre of nuclear tyranny that we have to worry about. Gaddafi gave up his nuclear plan in 2004, but did he really give up?
