Police retrieve wireless set

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Finally, the Thiruvallom Police got back their wireless set which was snatched away from the patrolling team last week. The set was found abandoned near a bridge near Poonthura on Saturday.Though the police had made the set inactive soon, the incident turned out to be a black mark on the cops as they couldn’t trace the culprits let alone retrieve the set. The set was snatched away by a gang of six who came in a car on May 4 night when the police conducted patrolling near Udaya Samudra beach."The wireless set has become useless. We made it inactive using the killing machine. Now the set would just serve as a toy,’’ said P M Kuriakose, SP, Telecommunications.
