PUDUCHERRY: Representatives of rival political parties - the AINRC and the Congress - who were engaged in post-poll violence at Kirumampakkam participated in a peace meeting convened by the senior superintendent of police (law and order) V J Chandran here, on Wednesday.Close to 100 people, supporters of P Rajavelu (AINRC) and former minister Kandasamy (Congress) took part in the meeting, in which they raised accusations and blamed against each other for the violence that broke out after the elections on April 13 and 14.The SSP appealed to them not to indulge in violence. He urged them to approach the police with their complaints instead of trying to take the law into their hands.Superintendent of police (rural) Deivasigamani and sub-inspector Varadarajan also participated in the meeting.
