The Vishwa Hindu Parishad Ernakulam district committee members staged a dharna at Kaloor on Monday against District Congress Committee president V J Paulose’s statements that had allegedly denigrated the teachings of Sree Narayana Guru.
The activists burned Paulose in effigy as part of the protest. VHP district secretary N R Sudhakaran inaugurated the protest.
The activists demanded an explanation from KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala regarding the statement.
They have also alleged that the statement against the Guru was a deliberate move, of a group in the Congress Party, to malign the faith of the Hindu community.
SNDP Yogam secretary C P Ravikumar, SNDP Kaloor president V P Chandran, Hindu Aikya Vedi secretary A B Biju, VHP district president S J R Kumar, VHP members S Rajendran, K P Vishwanathan, T R Mohanan, Sanil Kumar, Sajitha Ravi Kumar and Dileep Kumar participated in the protest.
