New Delhi: After appointing noted Bharat Natyam dancer Leela Samson as the Chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in March, the government on Thursday appointed 15 persons as members of the Board with immediate effect for a period of three years.
Among the people who have made it to the panel is film critic Rajeev Masand, the Entertainment Editor at CNN-IBN. Other journalists in the panel include Shubhra Gupta from The Indian Express, Pankaj Vohra from the Hindustan Times and columnist Anees Jung.
The list has a few famous theatre artistes like Amal Allana, M K Raina and Arundhati Nag. Among the members from the film fraternity are noted scriptwriter Anjum Rajabali, Malayalam director Shaji Karun and filmmaker Pankaj Sharma.
Nikhil Alva, son of senior Congress leader Margaret Alva, is a TV entrepreneur while Ira Bhaskar is a professor of film studies at the JNU, Delhi. Mamang Dai is a feminist writer from Arunachal Pradesh.
