In a significant development in the gangrape case involving a minor girl from the Kathumar police station area of Rajasthan’s Alwar district, authorities have identified the primary suspect as an Agniveer in the Army. The suspect, identified as Bhavesh, also known as Saurabh, was apprehended by police in Uttarakhand. He had travelled to Uttarakhand for duty after the alleged assault, which he reportedly committed with accomplices in Rajasthan. The Alwar police have arrested Bhavesh, and an ongoing search is underway for his associates involved in the crime.
According to Superintendent of Police Anand Sharma, the incident occurred when the minor girl, who was from a village within the police station’s jurisdiction, was taken by an acquaintance from her maternal side. The victim, trusting the individual, accompanied him, only to be subsequently gangraped by him and four of his associates. A formal complaint was filed by the victim’s father at the Kathumar police station. The family had also sought intervention from the Chief Minister for the apprehension of the accused.
Sharma stated that, given the gravity of the case, police formed teams to apprehend the suspects. The investigation revealed that the primary accused in the gangrape was an Agniveer who was stationed in Uttarakhand. Kathumar DSP Jogendra Singh Rajawat and station-in-charge Sanjay Sharma travelled to Uttarakhand to follow up on the case. After consulting with local army officials, they were able to arrest the main suspect. Bhavesh is from Jatwada village in the Bahtukalan police station area in Haryana.
The police had previously arrested one of the remaining suspects, Ramveer. However, the search for the other suspects continues, with no leads discovered as of yet.
