Rape, Murder Accused Nabbed

JHARSUGUDA: Jharsuguda police claimed to have cracked the case of rape and murder of a Plus Two student with the arrest of the main accused, Khagendra Nayak, of Keshapur village under Soro police limits in Balasore.The decomposed body of the victim was found from Amdarah under Brajrajnagar police limits on October 31. Nayak was an acquaintance of the girl’s maternal uncle and often visited her.On October 24, the girl reportedly rang him up from college asking him to drop her home. Nayak picked up the girl from college but stopped on the way at Amdarah where he raped and strangulated her to death before fleeing the spot.
