New Delhi: A Delhi court has convicted Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) terrorist Mohammad Arif and six others in the December 2000, Red Fort attack case.
The court acquitted four others against whom the chargesheet had been filed.
The judgement comes five years after the shootout in the historic Red Fort in New Delhi.
The shootout had killed two army personnel and a civilian.
Additional Sessions Judge OP Saini had, on October 14, reserved his order after completion of final arguments by the counsel for the prosecution of the 11 accused.
The police had accused LeT's Mohammad Arif alias Ashfaq a Pakistani national of masterminding the attack.
The prosecution had said that two LeT terrorist sneaked into the 17th century monument at around 2100 IST (+ 5:30 GMT) on December 22, 2000, and fired indiscriminately on guards of the 7th battalion of Rajputana Rifles.
Police had chargesheeted 11 accused? Ashfaq, his alleged Indian wife Rehmana Farooqi, Nazir Ahmed Qasid, Farooq Ahmed Qasid, Sadaqat Ali, Shahanshah Alam, Babbar Mohsin Baghwala, Devender Singh, Rajiv Kumar Malhotra, Matloob Alam and Moolchand in the case.
