GOOGLE DOODLE TODAY, INDIA REPUBLIC DAY: Google today on 26 January, 2024, celebrated India Republic Day with a Doodle honouring the anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution in 1950, when the nation proclaimed its status as a sovereign, democratic, and republic state. Illustrated by guest artist Vrinda Zaveri, today’s Doodle showcases the Republic Day parade as it might have appeared on various screens throughout the decades.

Last year, the 2023 Republic Day Doodle, was designed by guest artist Parth Kothekar. It used intricately hand-cut paper to depict iconic elements of the parade, such as the Rashtrapati Bhavan, India Gate, and marching contingents. It also featured the national bird peacock and lotus motifs, along with a human finger heart symbolizing love and unity.

This year’s Republic Day Parade will carry the themes of ‘Viksit Bharat’ and ‘Bharat — Loktantra ki Matruka,’ with French President Emmanuel Macron serving as the chief guest.

Notably, the parade will feature an unprecedented all-women tri-services contingent from the Army, Navy, and Air Force, symbolizing the seamless integration of the Indian armed forces on the Kartavya Marg.

Adding an international touch, a 95-member marching contingent and a 33-member band from France will participate in the 75th Republic Day Parade in New Delhi on January 26.

The French Air Force will showcase Rafale fighter jets and multirole tanker transport aircraft during the parade, aligning with President Macron’s presence as the chief guest.

In a unique collaboration, six Indians will join the French military team, marching alongside Indian contingents down the majestic Kartavya Path. The collaborative display reflects the spirit of unity and friendship.

Furthermore, the 75th Republic Day Parade will witness the participation of eight women scientists from the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Hailing from various ISRO centers in Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Thiruvananthapuram, and Sriharikota, this all-women contingent will lead a special tableau highlighting the historic moment when Chandrayaan-3 successfully landed on the moon on August 23 last year. This achievement solidified India’s position as the first and only country to reach the unexplored lunar south pole.
