BHUBANESWAR: President of the OPCC Niranjan Patnaik demanded that the State Government should take steps to resolve the crisis in the Orind’s Lathikata unit in Sundargarh district and extend all assistance to the workers. Employees of the plant had staged rasta roko on NH-15 as the company had not paid their salary for the last 15 months, he said and added that they had to resort to peaceful agitation after their approaches to the ruling party representatives and government failed to yield any result. He criticised the Government for arresting the workers and registering false cases against them instead of solving their problem. OPCC general secretary Arjya Kumar Gyanendra said the Government should solve the problems through discussion with the workers.
