New Delhi: A television serial on the RSS is under production and will carry episodes on the Ram temple movement, Sangh mouthpiece Organiser has said.
The telecast of the 70-episode Matribhoomiv is expected begin in November and will run on a national TV station. However, the weekly did not say which channel would carry the Sangh programme.
RSS chief K S Sudarshan and senior BJP leader L K Advani, who were together at the August 15 screening of a Sangh film, also attended the serial's muhurat alongwith party chief Rajnath Singh, NDA convenor George Fernandes and VHP chief Ashok Singhal.
"I hope Matribhoomi serial will present the facts in the right perspective so that people can see the truth with their eyes," the Organiser quoted Sudarshan as saying.
In his comments, Advani, who fell out last year with the RSS for his remarks on Pakistan'ss founder Mohammad Ali Jinnah, praised the Sangh as the biggest mass movement of the 20th century.
The serial, according to the Organiser, will also show the Sangh's role in "protecting the Hindus" during the 1946, 1947 and 1948 riots.
