HYDERABAD: Following reliable information that certain groups were likely to law and order problem in the twin cities, the city police clamped Sec 144 from Friday. This prohibits people from gathering, rallying or meeting. It is learnt that the decision was taken in view of the ongoing Sakalajanula Samme. The orders will be in force till 6 a.m. on Sept 22.Hyderabad police commissioner A K Khan said that any kind of procession, dharna, rally or public meeting was prohibited and that no individual or group of individuals shall make any speech, gesture or display pictures, symbols, placards, flags, which were likely to create religious animosity or hatred between different communities or individuals.It was informed that any person violating the orders shall be liable for prosecution under the law.The following people are exempted from these orders: police officers and personnel on duty, military personnel on duty, Home Guards on duty, bonafide funeral processions, persons or groups duly exempted by competent authority.
