Police today scaled up security

at Krishnaraja Sagar (KRS) reservoir here as a precautionary

measure in the wake of continued protests over Supreme Court

directing Karnataka to release 9,000 cusecs of Cauvery water

to Tamil Nadu. Karnataka State Reserve Police and District Armed Reserve

Police have been deployed to guard the reservoir, police said. In another development the district administration banned

entry of people into KRS dam area. Meanwhile, farmers and Kannada protogonist organisation

activists continued dharna and road blockade in various parts

President G Madegowda urged the four union ministers from

Karnataka-- S M Krishna, M Mallikarjun Kharge, M Veerappa

Moily and K H Muniyappa to quit the ministry in protest
