Shah Rukh 'lands' in trouble with HC
It is alleged that SRK was given undue favour by BMC and the government on a plot of land, adjacent to his bungalow.

New Delhi: A day after there was revelry following the unveiling of his wax statue at Madame Tussauds in London, there’s some bad news for Bollywood badshah Shah Rukh Khan.

The Bombay High Court on Monday directed Shah Rukh to submit documents regarding ownership, sanctions and permissions for construction in the compound of his bungalow Mannat in Bandra, within two weeks.

The direction comes from a division bench of Chief Justice Swatenter Kumar and Justice S C Dharmadhikari following a Public Interest Litigation filed by a Mumbai-based organisation Bhrashtrachaar Nirmulan Sanghatana.

The court had earlier dismissed another PIL that raised the same issue but the NGO claimed it was challenging the construction on different grounds.

Its main contention is that the construction blocks a motorable road along Mannat that links Bhabha Road and Mount Mary Road in suburban Bandra, which had been marked on the development plan.

It is alleged that Shah Rukh was given undue favour by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation and state government when they lifted the reservation on a plot of land, adjacent to his bungalow.

The plot was subsequently purchased and developed by the actor.
