Sharapova cruises into third round

New Delhi: Maria Sharapova cruised past fellow Russian Anastasia Rodionova in her second round match at the Australian Open on Thursday.

The number one seed took just under an hour to demolish Rodionova 6-0, 6-3.

Sharapova sent six aces past Rodionova, and though she made 21 unforced errors against Rodionova's 12, she made up for it by hitting 20 winners.

Sharapova also did not let Rodionova break her once through the match.

Sharapova is set to face Tatiana Golovin in the third round of the season-opening event.
