Indian challenge in the badminton championship has come to an end.
Bangalore: Ace shuttler Chetan Anand's fine performance in the $1,75,000 (Rs 78,75,000) Danish Open badminton championships at Aarhus has come to an end.
The Indian lost to world No 8 and fourth seeded Mohammed Hafiz Hashim of Malaysia in the quarter finals 15-11, 10-15, 9-15.
Anand, who upset seventh seed Shoji Sato of Japan in the pre-quarters, took the first game, but could not sustain the same tempo and lost the next two games to the 2003 All England champion.
Hashim, who had won the Dutch open last week, would now play Kaldau Niels Christian of Denmark in the semifinals.
Chetan's good show in the five-star event would help him better his world ranking when the list is announced next week.
