Sobha John likely to get arreted soon

KOCHI: Sobha John, a prime accused in the Varapuzha sex scam involving a minor girl, is believed to be still in the state. She will reportedly be nabbed soon before she gets away to other destinations or surrenders before the court.According to police sources, there is clear indication about the presence of Sobha John in the state.The police are trying hard to reach her before she succeeds in getting out of the state or seeks legal help. The  police got details about her movement after questioning those close to her, the other day. It also said that Sobha John is hiding behind influential people, including politicians and top police officials.Circle Inspector K G Babu Kumar, who is investigating the case, told Express that her arrest would be very significant as her indirect involvement in the Paravoor sex scam was clear. Mani and Sunny who were arrested on Saturday in connection with the Varapuzha case are involved in the Paravoor sex scam also.The victim of Varapuzha case has submitted before the police that she was offered to over 200 people ever since she was allegedly sold to Sobha John in January this year.The girl has also alleged that she had been detained and tortured for one month for refusing to obey Sobha’s directives. The hearing in the case pertaining to former Sabarimala temple priest Kandararu Mohanaru, in which Sobha John is a prime accused, will begin from this September.The girl was arrested along with a retired army official and another man hailing from Thiruvananthapuram on charges of immoral activities from a rented house at Varapuzha on August 4. During investigation, it was found that the girl was 17 years old and not 19 as claimed earlier.The girl’s parents were summoned from Mangalore and arrested following this.The move to arrest Sobha John was initiated after the parents confessed to handing over the girl to her. It has been confirmed that those arrested from Varapuzha were introduced to the girl by Sobha John and agents those held in Paravoor case had close ties with her.
