Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie flew to Mumbai by a private chopper on Saturday and checked into a luxury hotel in South Mumbai. Jolie is in the metropolis to shoot for a film based on the life of slain American journalist Daniel Pearl, who lived in the city for seven years.
A Mighty Heart, produced by Pitt's production house, is based on the book of the same title by Daniel's wife, Mariane Pearl. The film will chart Pearl's life and career until his abduction and murder by al-Qaida terrorists in Karachi.

Jolie, who plays Marianne, Pearl's wife in the film, is accompanied by the film's unit, which was earlier stationed in Pune. Most of the scenes to be shot in the city will be between Irfan Khan, Angelina Jolie and Dan Futtermann.
The movie will be shot on the streets at Mohammed Ali Road, a McDonalds outlet in south Mumbai, and lounge bars Indigo and Soul Fry. Pearl was a familiar face at Soul Fry and Indigo, where he often played music with Joe Alvarez.
