Dejected over his family’s objection to his marriage, a 20-year-old youth killed himself by hanging at his residence in Subbanna Garden on Friday evening. The deceased has been identified as Rajesh, a native of Shimoga, working with his father who is a mason and was residing in a rented house with his family. According to the police, the incident took place at 7.30 pm when he was alone. He hanged himself to the ceiling. Rajesh was in love with a girl for the past few months and was asking his parents to get them married. His father asked him to wait till he reached an appropriate age. On Friday, evening he asked his mother to bring juice for him and while she went out to a nearby juice shop he took this extreme step, the police said.
A case has been registered in Shankarapuram police station limits and investigations are on.
