CHENNAI: Two school students from Tamil Nadu have made the State proud by bagging the first two places in the State division at the Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research-INSPIRE 2011 awards, held in New Delhi on August 16.A Abubakkar Siddik of Ayyur in Madurai district was awarded the first place for a model of a simple water-based weighing machine. The student of standard VII in PUM School had devised the idea on his own. J Rubamathy from Nagapattinam was awarded second place in the State-wise category. Her’s was a sewerage treatment plant which would provide water that was clean for agriculture and industrial use.
