Mumbai: Tata Communications has launched mobile broadband solutions enabled by 'Internet Protocol Exchange' (IPX+) framework. Seventy mobile network operators (MNOs) across the globe have signed up for the new framework which is designed to help capitalise on the latest technology innovations in the mobile broadband space, the company said here.
"MNOs need solutions that deliver tangible benefits and improved efficiencies while tackling accelerated data growth. While IPX is a key component of the overall service, MNOs are looking at areas where they can be better positioned to deliver and monetise the customer experience efficiently. The IPX+ framework was developed to address this need," Tata Communications Executive Vice-President Allan Chan said.
"We work with MNOs all around the world, supporting the largest on-net mobile signalling and voice community. Seventy MNOs have already signed up to the IPX+ framework." With mobile data volume growing nearly three-fold annually, and close to 50 per cent of that predicted to come from mobile video, demands for mobile broadband solutions and services are set to rise dramatically, company sources said.
With the IPX+ framework, MNOs can support mobile applications with greater efficiency through a consolidated network that has optimised utilisation, simplified inter-connect arrangements and managed solutions, they said. Voice, signalling and roaming solutions are integrated within the framework, the company said.
