VIRUDHUNAGAR: Contradicting the view of majority of students, teachers of Narikudi Marudhupandiyar Government Higher Secondary School alleged that the two students, detained on charges of threatening teachers, were rogues. They alleged that both students used to harass teachers and girl students in the school.English teacher M Subramanian, who complained of threat, reiterated his stand that when he questioned the two students for not attending the morning prayers, the duo threatened to murder him.Explaining his stand, Subramanian said that around 10 students were staying inside the classroom without attending the morning prayer. When he went inside the classroom and asked the students to attend the prayers, all students followed his instruction except the two, he said.Both students were found roaming near the Botany lab, said Subramanian adding that when he questioned them, one of them removed his shirt and threatened threatened to kill Subramanian. The teacher also claimed that one of them told him that he was in the hit list and he would meet with the same fate like the teacher who was stabbed to death in Chennai.When asked whether the students had knife in their possession when they threatened him, the teacher said that they didn’t carry knife with them.Immediately, Subramanian along with other teachers met the Headmistress D Usha Shantha Joy and apprised her of the incident. “Though the police refused to take our complaint, we made the police to accept our complaint via the Headmistress in her capacity as district education officer,” said Subramanian.
