HYDERABAD: A day after chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy had said that regionalism was not good for the state, he came under criticism from two prominent Telangana leaders in the Congress _ former MP K Kesava Rao and sitting MP G Vivekananda. Talking with reporters at Gandhi Bhavan Monday, Kesava Rao wondered how the chief minister, during a visit to the Parkal constituency in Warangal district, could describe the Telangana movement as regionalism. Telangana had been a separate entity prior to the formation of the Andhra Pradesh state, he pointed out. ``Regionalism and statehood are different. We are fighting for  formation of Telangana state which was forcibly merged with the Andhra region in 1956,” he said. The chief minister’s remarks were understandable as he hailed from Rayalaseema and, being an integrationist, wanted to keep Telangana in the united state, Kesava Rao said.In an indirect reference to the chief minister, the former MP asked him to read history to know the facts about Telangana. He said the Telangana movement would not die down irrespective of the developmental works undertaken in the region.
